Quality Assurance Specialist
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and documentation of an ISO based quality management system at the site level and ensures that the Quality Management System components and processes are current and maintained to meet ISO and Southwire requirements.
- Lead the company's response to customer complaints, including customer responses, communication of actions and updates to processes, product requirements, and procedures.
- Lead the Company’s Corrective and Preventative Action process; Lead the company's response to customer complaints, including customer responses, communication of actions and updates to processes, product requirements, and procedures.
- Own the QA of processes to ensure compliance with company procedures and ISO standards.
- Develop, update, and implement training programs and tools for new and existing team members and collaborate with other departments to conduct cross training.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse team for movement of products in and out of QC and to ensure accuracy of QC inventory locations.
- Identify/segregate nonconforming material according to established procedures.
- Work collaboratively with QC teams in other company facilities to share test results and standardize QC processes, procedures, and systems.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including product development, product management and production; identifying and mitigating quality risks.
- Oversee actual practices in comparison to documented SOPs, updating to ensure compliance, and providing improvement for SOPs and/or practices where appropriate.
- Perform visual and functional inspection of both finished and unfinished product upon receipt and verify material meets applicable acceptance criteria.
- Maintain accurate records of product acceptance and First Article Acceptance (FAI) requirements.
- Own and manage supplier evaluation process and KPIs.
- Establish and adhere to maintenance and calibration schedule for testing equipment based on manufacturers recommendations and maintain equipment records.
- Review and approve proposed manufacturing and specification changes; update procedural documents and/or SOPs as needed.
- Provide regular feedback to Senior Management and other stakeholders.
- Record and maintain QC testing data and provide reports as requested.
- Compile data to identify trends and propose corrective action.
- Manage, analyze, and publish Quality Assurance Reports for assigned projects including process yields, defect/root cause analysis and associated corrective actions using 8D or similar methodology.
- Professionally represent Elatec at all times, working positively and effectively with internal resources and external customers.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of Vocational, Technical, Certificate or Associate degree is required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or Scientific discipline preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years of technical related work experience.
- At least 2 years of experience in a quality control operation involving electronics or other technical products; or equivalent combination of educational experience and process management skills in a technical product environment.
- Experience with quality trending analysis and reporting.
- Experience with Quality Assurance/Quality Control is required.
- Working knowledge of Six Sigma methodology and techniques.
- Experience with ISO 9001 regulated manufacturing.
- Six Sigma Certification/ASQ CQE Certification is preferred.
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products, including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
- Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written English, with the ability to influence and motivate others.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and delegate effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to interpret technical instructions, establish, document, and follow procedures.
- Motivated and self-directed, with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Flexibility, with the demonstrated ability to easily adapt to changes within the work environment, delays, or unexpected events.
- Professional demeanor with a high level of respect for others and accountability for one’s own actions.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
