Position Overview

The Elatec Territory Sales Manager will have full accountability for the company’s business development, sales, and account management activities in their assigned territory. Markets and industries served include electric vehicle charging, industrial automation, medical equipment, secure printing, and others.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with industrial / electronics sales experience, possess a strong customer acquisition process, and embrace a solution-oriented approach to solving problems and delivering growth. In this critical sales role, you will be expected to identify, evaluate and develop sales leads for new products, extensions of existing products and new sales channels. Candidates should have a proven track record of B2B sales success as well as the ability to develop and maintain relationships at multiple levels in the customer base to position Elatec as a strategic partner to the customer.

Territory: Central North America – US & central Canada. US States include Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Indiana, Kentucky, Kansas, Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas, and Arkansas.

Location:
  - Preferred location: A major metro area within territory, such as Chicago or Dallas
  - Based in home office or shared office environment depending on location
  - Position requires travel of approximately 50%

Duties & Responsibilities

  • New Business Development:
  • Prospect for new business and create demand for Elatec product offerings
  • Aggressively work qualified leads provided and self-generate leads on new design opportunities
  • Build and foster relationships with potential customers and build contact networks within customer’s engineering, purchasing and product management organizations
  • Develop and penetrate strategic target accounts
  • Manage information relevant to forecasting and develop volume sales forecasts and pipeline for new business opportunities in CRM
  • Required to work closely with insides sales, field application engineers, product management and marketing personnel to drive lead conversion and new business acquisition
  • Account Management:
  • Manage strategic key account OEM customers. Service existing customer base establishing a “trusted advisor” position within the account
  • Schedule and host regular business reviews with key customers and drive annual agreement and pricing discussions
  • Thoroughly track project opportunities and establish a winning strategy for receiving project awards
  • Ensure timely follow-up with all quotations and leads

Essential Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Strong track record of developing a sales strategy and executing on business development programs that deliver growth and exceed budget
  • Highly motivated individual with experience in identifying new opportunities, prospecting and generating sales growth with industrial / electronics OEMs, outsourced design firms, and contract manufacturers
  • Documented success in penetrating global electrical/electronic OEMs and industrial procurement accounts
  • Utilize a CRM is all aspects of customer interaction and communication. Salesforce.com experience is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to acquire new customers while retaining and increasing share with existing accounts
  • Experience supporting first fit product development in a business-to-business environment
  • Strong knowledge of technical sales principles, methods, practices, and techniques
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented individual
  • Minimum 5 years B2B technical sales experience
    • BS degree in a technology field or Business Administration

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field from a four-year college or technical school
    • Experience with RFID products and technologies is a plus
    • Five (5) or more years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Energetic, aggressive, focused and a highly motivated self-starter
    • Strong relationship builder and a strong personal desire to win
    • Ability to multi-task and work cross-functionally with strong organizational skills.
    • Team player mentality but able to work independently as required
    • Strong interpersonal, listening, questioning and communication skills (written and oral)
